Installation steps

1. Go to the IDL Web site http://www.ittvis.com/idlvm/index.asp
2. Register as a new user. You will receive an email with a link to activate your account (it can take an hour or so).
3. Go to "download IDL VM".
4. Download "IDL VM" for your Windows environment. Currently there is version 7.0 available. Both IDL and IDL VM will be downloaded (but to run the IDL VM you do not need any license).
5. Install "IDL VM" (Run "idl70.exe"). Set the installation directory as D:/ITT or C:/ITT (check available space – you will need some GB free for the POMI data). In the end of the installation you do not have to run the license application (“No”).
6. Create a new directory named POMI under the selected IDL VM installation directory (D:/ITT or C:/ITT).

Download steps

1 . In this new ".../POMI/" directory unzip the files in the download area according to instructions provided there.

Running steps

1. Right-click on the IDL-VM icon. Choose properties. Put the path ".../POMI/" of the directory into Start in. OK.
2. Run IDL VM (double-click icon).
3. In the window select appropriate ".sav”.
4. Since the program has to read-in the data, it will take some time before it pops up.
